Matthew Oxley

Associate M&A

Matthew Oxley splits his roots between Charleston, South Carolina and the Washington, D.C. area. He grew up in his family’s residential landscape lighting and irrigation business, working hands-on as a technician and learning early what quality work and earned trust feel like. He later joined KPMG as a financial due diligence advisor to broaden his exposure to business building and more sophisticated finance and M&A deal work – a path that connected him to Stonegrove, where he now helps manage acquisitions.

What is the most inspiring part of your job?
The most inspiring part of my work is the people I get to meet along the way. Whether I’m across the table in a transaction or shoulder-to-shoulder building a great company, I’m drawn to people who share a foundation of hard work, integrity, and genuine respect for those they do business with. Those are the relationships that outlast any single deal.
The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is…
Each generation of my family has told their kids the same thing when getting their first job: a deal is only a good deal if every party benefits – in business and in life.
